Internal Wind Turbine Cleaning at Merkur Offshore Wind Farm
In 2024, we carried out a comprehensive internal cleaning campaign at the Merkur Offshore Wind Farm in the German North Sea.
Our teams cleaned wind turbine interiors from the nacelle down to the air-tight platform, removing oil residue, grease, coolant spills, and accumulated dust across structural levels and component surfaces.

Challenge
Accessing confined and elevated spaces required qualified rope access technicians with offshore experience. Each team also included a certified electrician to manage Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures—ensuring safe turbine shutdown and start-up in line with site protocols.
Solution
We used environmentally friendly cleaning agents and followed strict environmental protection measures throughout the project, aligning with offshore wind standards and regulations.
Results
This project highlighted our ability to combine technical access, safety procedures, and environmental care in delivering specialist cleaning offshore.
