Mechanical and Coating Works on Arcadis Ost 1 Offshore Wind Farm
Germany’s rapid offshore expansion brought Ventum the opportunity to support the Arcadis Ost 1 Offshore Wind Farm during its installation phase, starting in 2022.
Our team initially joined to provide rope access assistance during the installation of transition pieces (TPs) and secondary steel, working from the heavy lift vessel Lone, which served as home base for our technicians over several months.
Challenge
Soon after mobilization, our scope expanded into a comprehensive campaign of mechanical and coating repairs. This included fixing dents and performing large-scale coating work on boat landings, handrails, and TP structural elements. Our skilled rope access painters resolved non-conformities on the spot—minimizing risk of delay during the next stages of installation.
Solution
The mobilization and loading of steel components took place in Gdańsk, Poland, aligning seamlessly with our warehouse operations for fast delivery of required materials.
Results
By late autumn 2022, final treatments were completed, and our team demobilized at the port of Kiel, closing another successful offshore campaign.
