Offshore blade dismantling
As older turbine components reached end-of-life, Ventum was awarded a contract to dismantle blades requiring major maintenance at the Arklow Offshore Wind Farm in Ireland.
The project was scheduled for summer 2025, using a jack-up vessel equipped with a crane to remove and safely store blades on deck-mounted racks.
We look forward to returning to Ireland, onshore or offshore, as we continue keeping the world spinning.

Challenge
Close planning with the client and thorough site preparation laid the groundwork. The team established a strong work pace from the outset, earning consistent positive feedback from the client’s supervisors. Offshore conditions brought frequent weather-related downtime, but our team made use of this time for preparatory work, ensuring efficient execution once operations resumed
Solution
A dedicated eight-person Ventum team handled the operation—HSE Supervisor, lifting supervisors, MCE technicians, and rope access professionals provided full-scope support.
Results
All 18 blades were successfully dismantled by mid-July 2025 through coordinated effort between Ventum and the client’s team.
