SCOPE

In summer 2023, GE Vernova approached Ventum with an urgent request for technical support on their Haliade-X prototype in Rotterdam—the world’s largest offshore wind turbine.

The project required highly skilled MCE and service technicians with lifting and rigging experience. Several of our technicians were already active in the region and could be quickly mobilized after completing additional training.

Challenge

Together with GE Vernova, we worked in two shifts near the Sif factory to return the turbine to production under tight deadlines. Technicians followed work manuals meticulously, reaching daily milestones and keeping the project on track.

Solution

As part of the scope, design upgrades were also implemented, allowing our team to install and test new components as the turbine restarted.

Results

Two nine-person teams completed the works by early autumn 2023, with the prototype back online and the customer fully satisfied.
